Privacy Policy
How we handle your information.
In plain English: what we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, and what we never do with it. The short version is we collect what we need to scope and schedule electrical work, and we do not sell your information.
What we collect
When you contact us through this website, call the local shop, or schedule a visit, we collect: your name, phone number, email address, the service address (so we know which shop covers it), and a description of the work you want done or the issue you are reporting. We may also collect photos you send us (of a panel, an outlet, a damaged fixture) when those help us scope the visit. If you complete a project with us, we keep the install date, parts list, and inspection close-out for warranty purposes.
Like most websites, we also collect basic technical information automatically: IP address, browser type, the page you came from, and how you used our site. This is for analytics and security, not advertising.
How we use it
We use the information you give us to do the work you asked us to do: schedule the visit, write a real quote, deliver the install, and handle warranty service if it is ever needed. We use the technical analytics data to understand which pages help visitors find what they need and to improve the site over time.
We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not share your contact information with marketing firms, lead-resellers, or affiliate networks. The local shop that covers your address is the only party that receives your request, plus the corporate brand inbox for visibility.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses essential cookies for basic site functionality (remembering form state, signed-in admin sessions). When analytics tags are configured (Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager) we collect anonymized usage data: page views, click events on phone numbers, lead form submissions, scroll depth. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking through your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party services
We use a small set of third-party services to operate the site: Google Maps (for the location maps embedded on contact and location pages), Google Places API (for live review data on location hubs), and Google Tag Manager (when configured, for analytics). Each of those services has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle the data they collect through these embeds.
SMS messaging
If you provide your phone number and consent to SMS messaging, we may send you appointment reminders, ETA updates, or follow-up scheduling messages. Standard message and data rates apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. See our SMS Consent Policy for the full terms.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not turn into projects are kept for 24 months and then purged. Customer files for completed projects are kept for the duration of the warranty period plus 3 years (i.e., a 10-year wiring warranty produces a customer file we keep for 13 years). Technical analytics data is retained per the relevant analytics provider's defaults (typically 26 months).
Your rights (general)
You can ask us at any time to: see what information we have about you, correct any of it, or delete it (subject to active warranty obligations on completed work). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@keilelectric.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request, typically by confirming the contact information on file against the original quote or service request.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. This section summarizes those rights and how to exercise them.
Categories of personal information we collect
In the past 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:
- Identifiers — name, postal address, email address, phone number, IP address.
- Customer records — service address, billing address, project scope notes, photos you sent us.
- Commercial information — records of services purchased, warranty status, payment history (handled through our processor, not stored on this site).
- Internet or other electronic network activity — pages visited on this site, referring URL, browser type, session duration (collected via analytics when configured).
- Geolocation data — approximate location derived from IP address; precise service-address geolocation when you provide it for dispatch.
- Inferences — whether a visitor appears to be in our service area based on the service address provided.
We do not collect categories that we have not described above. We do not collect sensitive personal information (Social Security numbers, government IDs, financial account numbers, precise real-time location, racial/ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, biometric data, sexual orientation, or contents of mail/email/messages).
Sources of personal information
Directly from you (contact forms, phone calls, emails, in-person visits). Automatically from your interactions with this website (analytics, cookies, server logs). From third-party platforms when you contact us through them (e.g., Google Business Profile messages, partner referrals).
Business purposes for collection
To respond to your service request, to schedule and complete the work, to handle warranty claims, to communicate with you about your project (including SMS reminders if you opt in), to maintain customer records for the warranty period, to detect and prevent fraud, to comply with legal obligations, and to improve the website and our services.
Categories of third parties
We share personal information only with service providers acting on our behalf, and only as necessary to perform the work you requested. These include: our CRM and dispatch software provider, our SMS messaging provider, our email service provider, our payment processor (only when you make a payment), Google (for Maps, Places API, and analytics when configured), and our financing partner Wisetack when you initiate a pre-qualification through their link.
Sale or sharing of personal information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information of California residents in the past 12 months, and we do not have actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Your CCPA rights
- Right to know — you may request a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we shared it.
- Right to delete — you may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (active warranty obligations, contract performance, fraud detection, compliance with legal obligations).
- Right to correct — you may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share, but if that ever changes, you would have the right to opt out at any time.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to limit.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your privacy rights.
How to submit a request
Email privacy@keilelectric.com with the subject line "CCPA Request" and tell us what you would like us to do (know / delete / correct). You may also call the local shop and ask for the privacy contact. We will respond within 45 days; the law allows us one 45-day extension if needed, and we will tell you in writing if we need it.
Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf. We will require proof of authorization (signed permission) and verification of your identity before responding.
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": we do not sell or share, but you may submit a request to confirm this at privacy@keilelectric.com.
Shine the Light (California Civil Code § 1798.83)
California residents who have an established business relationship with us may request, once per calendar year, a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes during the prior calendar year. As stated above, we do not share personal information for third-party direct marketing purposes.
Texas residents (TDPSA)
If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you similar rights to the CCPA for personal data we process about you: the right to confirm whether we are processing your data, the right to access it, the right to correct inaccuracies, the right to delete it, the right to data portability, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data. We do not engage in targeted advertising and we do not sell personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@keilelectric.com with the subject line "TDPSA Request" and identify yourself as a Texas resident. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, you may appeal in writing to the same address and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days. If your appeal is also declined, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
Children's information
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you think your child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy occasionally as the business or applicable law changes. The "effective" date at the top of this page reflects the last meaningful update. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
